Looks like even the Rapidshare servers have crippled all thanks to heavy loads on their server. If the code and counter weren’t enough, now non-premium users have to even select the network to download from.

The networks are termed Net-Mirror ‘Alpha’ and ‘Omega’ .It only adds to frustration selecting the network, waiting for the counter and then enter the code. Sucks! I always preferred rapidshare to download stuff from, if the file-size was less than 50MB or so. The new feature doesnt mean much to people like me with narrowband.

For those who are unaware, Gadget Guru is a weekly show aired on NDTV Profit which focusses only on gadgets and more gadgets. But in this weeks show, was surprised to see some one else hosting the show instead of Vikram Chandra. Seriously, the show isnt complete without Vikram Chandra. His own style of presenting the show, is appealing to all whether or not you have any knowledge about the stuff featured on it.

Hope to see him soon, doing what he does best on Gadget Guru.

There’s a Resident Evil 4 PC Listing on Play.com (UK) that would seem to indicate a PC edition of the upcoming horror sequel is in the works. The retailer listings can be unreliable, a follow-up by Andy from YiYas with Capcom Germany got an unofficial confirmation that this release is indeed planned. The release date listed is 31/3/2006.

Well, just a speculation but I guess Capcom have finally decided to put some show up for the PC after a long time. PC gamers had been long awaiting for the next installment of the RE and hopefully this would quench some thirst for them. I spent long hours playing Resident Evil 3 - Nemesis way back when it was released. Its serious fun killing the dead! Especially when they are in such huge numbers and associated with some small puzzles.

Eagerly waiting for some more info about this title. Looking forward to the official announcement and some previews hopefully sometime soon.

I was shocked to see the data transfer stats for the last few days. I guess I am breaking my own records. The data transfers I reached monthly, are now coming in less than a fortnight. All these figures, when I am not really making an effort to download like crazy. Its mostly torrents while I am away from my laptop. But this thing on blog is more out of frustration than being happy about downloading so much. I have had it enough with Tata Indicom Broadband. Could very well turn out to be the last month on it. What else is a person expected to react when you pay for a 128k connection and get only 64k speeds. And you have to follow all those paperwork, formalities, payment of dues - physically to actually get the scheme changed and switching off the connection after this month. And we are supposed to be in the electronic age! Even a small thing like a account change with a company like Tata involves so many useless things. Who is running away with your money! I have had made the payment in advance for like 2 months, a couple of times before, and now to change the plan I am expected to pay 38 Rs beforehand coz afterall thats what i am due to pay.

And how prolific the last few days were,

I have been getting a lot of hits to my blog from Google with the search terms ‘Adil Riaz Shoubik parag‘, the IITK Students behind the DinBhar song . To know more about it, check this blogpost. So I just decided to check out the results for the same myself. I opened the link myself and to my surprise there was no result for my blog. This was when I used Opera for the search and it showed only 2 results. Now I fired the fox, with the same link and again there were two results which din show my blog in the search results. And then strangely when I opened that link in Internet Explorer, I noticed the difference. There were four search results this time around and the first one leading to my blog.

Whats up Google, another tech-explanation to this?

College is turning out to be sooo much fun. I dont know what made me go to college again today after deciding not to go yesterday. Theres this professor termed ‘champu’ ( name has something to do with his hairstyle) who is least respected even by the teachers. To our misfortune he teaches 2/7 subjects this semester. And today in the lecture, all of a sudden, pointed at me just for a small thing.” Yes, you - get out of the class!” Obliging his orders, started to dump my things in the bag and get out. The professor interuppted to get out of the class without your bag. Just when I was at the door about to exit, he fired his last bullet - dont sit in my lectures and pracs for the whole week. It was some serious fun! Deep within I felt is just like another reason not to see college’s face for another week. Nice ..

Whole blog is turning out to be filled with small things that have happened in college lately, always never wanted to blog about this but cant help it now. Almost a week to enjoy :

Its been three weeks now since the new semester has started. I skipped the first two weeks as I took it for granted that there wont be much studies during that time. I was wrong. Last Monday, I just attended college to see whats going on in there, returned home in 1 hour for no reasons. Didnt attend any lectures/pracs for the whole week. And again, got up early in the morning for college today, the same thing happened. Returned home after watching Bluffmaster in Cinemax Sion. Had no option other than Bluffmaster as I had already seen Zinda a few days back.

And I dont think there is any point in going to college this week too, owing to the upcoming holidays and sports. So in short a lot of free time still..

I guess this is the first time both of these features ( Dartfish and Ultramotion) are being used in an Indian match by the production team in the recent India - Pak Cricket Series. I dont keep track of other games much, so maybe they are used extensively in other sports, but this Ultramotion cameras capturing 1000 frames/second sure is cool. The dartfish feature even lets compare the run up of two different bowlers, bat swings of different batsmen. So all in all, it adds a whole new dimension while viewing the cricket broadcast on television sets. All these new things only builds more interest while watching a game, especially a test match when things can go a bit boring due to lack of runs or some action. I like it for sure and only hope that this becomes a standard with all the different production teams.

And another thing to look out for is how soon the cricket games on the PC and consoles toy with this feature in the games too or maybe I am thinking too much..

After almost a break of one month, its now time to get back to studies. The course for the fourth sem has started. Having already bunked the first couple of weeks in college, its high time for me to resume. Looking forward to what this semester has in store. This semester looks more interesting with subjects like Structural Analysis, Building Planning and Graphics, Geomatics II to name a few. And these subjects sound critical too, considering its direct implication with the work a Civil Engineer is supposed to do.

I have got up so early in the morning after a long long time, almost a month. I dunno how I woke up at 7:30 am after sleeping at the wee hours of the morning. A lil over two and half hours of sleep, and still its a new feeling all together. There is a new spring in the step. I try to follow this routine but have never succeeded. I kinda like this if only I can enjoy it everyday.
