Whats up with Tata Indicom Broadband?

I get a feeling that Tata Indicom has completely forgotten about the basic fact that they run a ISP business and not some web services business via their customers. The list of their services which are accessible from the Tata Indicom Broadband id know no limits. Net Telephony, Web2SMS, Movies, Songs, Videos, Games, Online Encylopedia, Matrimonials – you name it. They have even started their own Domain Registration and Webhosting .

Its high time they get their wits together and do something about it. The tariff plans are a big joke and I dont even wanna talk about them. Stuck with them coz I have no other option to suit my requirements.

    TATAS HAVE PUT THEIR HAND IN ALL PLACES BUT WITH NO CO-ORDINATION BETWEEN TEAMS, COMMITMENT TO THE CUSTOMERS. THEY HAVE HIGHEST AVAILABLE BANDWIDTH, BUT BECAUSE OF LACK OF SERVICE / COMMITMENT THEY WILL BE LOOSER IN ALL THE SERVICE SECTOR(INCLUDING TELECOM).

    I HAD LOT OF RESPECT FOR TATA AS AN OLDEST INDIAN BUSINESS FAMILY BUT I LOST ALL BY OPTING 2 SERVICES FROM THEM.
    1 IS TELEPHONE AND OTHER IS BROADBAND.

    THEY WILL GIVE YOU AN OLD NON WORKING INSTRUMENTS, NON RELIABLE SERVICES AND LOT OF FRUSTRATION(FREE OF COST).

    AIRTEL IS FAR BETTER AS COMPARE TO THESE non responsive people for ISP services

    I REQUEST EVERYBODY WHO IS GLANCING THROUGH THIS- PL TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS NOT TO OPT ANY SERVICES FROM TATA EVEN IF IT IS FREE OF COST. THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BY LOOSING THERE MENTAL PEACE.

    Hello vikas, you have hit the nail right on the head. I know how it feels being at the receiving end of pathetic services from Tata Indicom. Though I find their TATA Sky and TATA landline, cellular services a lot better than Broadband. But then again their broadband standards are at ground zero too. Yes, and I say it again. Do not get Tata Indicom Broadband.

    Domain registraction…… huh.. I tried more than once (to use up the balance I had in my account) ….. You select domain, go into your account page –> End up in an error page ——–>Result Domain not registered

    Why they are keeping such things if it is not working ? Just for show or what?

    ALL TATA SERVICES SUCK..

    Airtel is the way to go. I have gone through all plans and i find the airtel plans the best by far. I am on 512k unlimited connection for 1699(i got a 20% discount). I get constant speed of 52k. I think their service is great.
    I once forgot that adsl has 1/8 of the uploading speed and I got angry with the executive in 20 minutes the local manager and the executive who issued my my connection was at my doorstep to convince me. The executive is now a in a higher post as he had issued me the connection more than 2 years ago. But he was there. That is service man.

    I totally agree with most of the above Tata Indicom Broadband users. The service is not only pathetic, buy horrendous, with the worst ever unfriendly, Customer Care, which is operating from Hyderabad. Let me explain my experiences too. I had issues with the BSNL DataOne connection, so I thought I would try with Tata. I applied for Tata connection coz of the Tata brand on 23rd Nov 2006. The cheque was immediately encashed, and the connection was not provided till Feb 16, 2007, after innumerous phone calls to Customer Care amounting to more than Rs.500 (no toll free Customer care nos,), and complaints to Managers in Bangalore. Every time promises were made, and I waited for it to be implemented. My neighbor, ironically, had connection in a week’s time after applying in Jan 2007! But they cancelled the services due to frequent disruptions in connections. After getting connection in Feb 2007, I must say, I haven’t been able to use the connection decently due to frequent disruptions either due to server issues from Tatas base stations, cable issues, or some silly reasons. It takes hell lot of a time to get to Customer care. I prefer calling at night 3 as the queue will be less. There are times I waited 30 minutes on phone, just to get to speak to a Customer care executive. Email will solicit no response. On 3rd April 2007 and on 9th June 2007, my 6-month subscription ended abruptly, and was asked to renew. After fighting with the Customer care, billing, manages, the subscription, which was to end in late October 2007, was given till Sept end. The services were ok in Sept 2007. Thinking that the services might have improved, I subscribed to another 6 months 10 days in advance. Again, after the end date, there were no services, which was to resume automatically. I am disappointed no senior VSNL personnel are bothered to rectify this anomaly. Hope some change happens for the good of all.
