ASUS India Notebook Service
Asus India had organized a laptop service camp for all brands of laptop in Mumbai for 2 days. I wanted to get some things sorted out in my laptop, so I decided to check out the Asus Service. I finally got some company at the last minute to make a trip all the way to Andheri on a lazy Sunday morning.
The Service Center was a well-furnished place with nice aesthetics, appealing environment and a polite staff. It was completely in contrast to that of Acer’s. The Receptionist was kind enough to ask me for some beverages, after I filled up the guest book. As luck may have it, not many people had turned up for the service. I had my ticket to a session with the engineer within no time. It didn’t take me long to explain him the issues with my laptop. Next up, I was handed over a small feedback form to be filled up while the issues were rectified.
The lobby had a sleek 19” widescreen LCD display powered by an ASUS Small Form Factor PC, which looked quite cool on the counter. When I made my way in there, I caught the last 15 minutes of the movie ‘The Day After Tomorrow’. Just when I was done with the feedback form, I was informed that my laptop had been taken care of. I was shocked to see everything done in less than 30 minutes:
1. The entire keypad removed, cleaned and fitted in again (I was embarrassed when the engineer said that there was a lot of dust. I could see hairs, dirt, food particles and even a fingernail over his desk!)
2. The air vents cleaned from the inside. A little dirt accumulation obstructed the outflow of air from the side of the laptop. It would have taken them a complete dissection of the laptop from the bottom to clear that.
3. The whole laptop body was cleaned by MINT cream. The entire screen was cleaned by a solution and it just looked freaking awesome.
4. A complimentary LCD Screen protecting film and a cleaning cloth was also provided.
I must admit, it was very kind of ASUS India to do all this to a third party branded laptop without any charges. A similar Free Notebook Service Camp will also be conducted in other metros like Delhi and Chennai (or was it Bangalore). If you have a notebook and stay in these place, you can give it a try.
Later on came up the best part, we checked out the different Asus laptops on the floor below the service center. Almost all their laptops have black exteriors, sleek no matter what form factor and downright sexy! I didn’t make enquiries of the prices of any laptop, coz I was frankly not interested in buying in such a transition period for mobile computing.
That is just about it. Nice work ASUS, Thanks I will just give ya a consideration when I buy my next laptop

Yeah, these laptops are ultra gorgeous. I cant think of buying a desktop PC ever again. AS for the s6 you are talking about from ASUS. It is a fairly new laptop forming their flagship range, so probably its not main stream and stocked So cant really help it, you have to get it ordered. But there are a lot of other options available in the market. Wait for a month, core 2 duo ‘merom’ based laptops would be better than ever.
