I just bought new iphone 8gb version 1.1.3 (4A93) from vile parle. Let me summerize My exprience with this gaget…

i got it in Rs. 22500 its unlocked, Shopkeeper inserted my sim card (hutch/vodafone) and it started working. Internet was not working when i bought iphone.

For indian iphoners following task (in following order only)are required to do once you are sure your sim card is working on your new i phone

1) connecting to internet: Ist this is activate your EDGE connection: For vodafone call customer service centre and as for activation of EDGE coneectivity. Just type ACT VMC111 and send it to 111 within 72 Hrs. your edge connectivity is activated. you will receive message from vodafone. (charges 199 per month for EDGE connection.) Then click General>network>EDGE> in EDGE settings click APN and type www
Thats it!!!! you can browse internet from iphone …its pretty fast!!!!!
2) Transfering old contact to iphone: Task is to install isim software
To get this software, start Installer on your iPhone, press Sources, then Edit, then Add. Next, type http://tinyurl.com/2t8cax

come back to installer and install iSIM. Switch off and on your iphone and u will see iSIM application. click and transfer your contact.

3) configuring your emails: click on settings>mails> select gmail/yahoo/aol and just provide information email id and password. your are ready to receive and send mails.
4) Tranfer music to iphod: you need computer with internet, download itune from apple website. Ready to tranfer music from computer to iphone ipod
